A technical guide of materials used

BIONEX
Thermoplastic resin with a low dielectric constant, without dielectric tangent, with a special quality for high frequency, low water absorbency, low specific gravity, high resistance to rewash, great transparency, suitable to the production of optical multisample cuvettes for specific analyzers.

POLYETHYLENE (PE)
Thermoplastic products, a little bit opaque, light, unbreakable, great chemical resistance to solvents. It is utilized for the production of stoppers and pasteur pipettes

POLYMETHACRILATE (PMMA)
Acrylic resin, transparent, resistant, similar to glass products used in the labs. It is utilizable on the production of scientific instruments’ optical cuvettes serological test-tubes.

POLYOXYMETHYLENE (POM)
It is produced by polymerisation of formaldehyde, light, unbreakable, great resistance to solvents used in pathological anatomy.

POLYPROPYLENE (PP)
Thermoplastic resin, a little bit opaque, great chemical resistance to solvent; it resists at about 120°C to the sterilization in autoclave; great resistance to the centrifugation. Particularly used for the production of biological containers and tubes.

POLYSTYRENE (PS)
Rigid resin, transparent with excellent dimensional stability and good chemical resistance to aqueous solution but limited resistance to solvents. This clear material is commonly used for for disposable laboratory products.

POLYCARBONATE (PC)
Rigid resin. The transparency and missing of color allow a permeability to the light of a 89% on the visible spectrum. Its transparency, joint to its mechanical properties, makes of it the substitute of glass but much more resistant than it to the cold.( it resists to the water under 70°C and to the liquid nitrogen at -196°C ). Utilized to produce BioBox 81
